World Petroleum Congress – is a spectacular industry event, has no analogues. It is called the "Olympic Games" in the oil and gas industry. The Congres held once every three years in different countries. World Petroleum Congresses trace their history from 1933 onwards. Russia has already hosted the World Petroleum Congress in 1971. It is expected that in 2014, it will be the largest event in a number of his predecessors.

In recent decades, each of the congresses is accompanied by the World Petroleum exhibition. The main feature of the world oil trade shows is that it is essentially an executive nature. The most well-known companies in the world, the energy and petroleum ministry show on their stands readiness of meeting the current challenges of the time, understanding of the prospects of development of humanity, social responsibility, concerns for the environment.
