POLYTON®-HV Topcoat

Description

Single-packed top coat, which is a suspension of pigments and fillers in a solution of vinyl-chloride, chlorinated rubber and acrylic resins

Recommended use

Used as a top protective and decorative coat for the PLAMCOR-2 fire protection intumescent coat (TU 2313-074-12288779-2008) in systems of metal structures protection against corrosion and fire in atmospheric conditions of macroclimate areas U, UHL, I and II atmospheric types according to GOST 15150 and indoors. The coat does not stop the bloating of the PLAMCOR-2 fire-proof composition.
Recommended dry coating thickness:

• 100-120 μm for protection against the influence of climatic factors of the PLAMCOR-2 coat when operating in the open air;
• 40-80 μm to impart decorative properties to the PLAMCOR-2 coats when operating indoors.

The coat PLAMCOR-2 + POLYTON-HV is not recommended for use in particularly aggressive conditions (long-term high humidity, corrosive gases).

Surface preparation

The surface of the fire protection coat PLAMCOR-2 must be clean, dry and free from defects.
The temperature of the surface to be painted must at least 3 °C higher than the dew point.

Application

• Prior to use mix thoroughly until smooth;
• Dilute with white-spirit (oil solvent-C4-155/200) by 15 % by mass.

POLYTON-HV is recommended to be applied at ambient temperature from 0 to plus 40 °С and relative humidity not more than 80 %, it is allowed to be applied at temperature from minus 15 °С.
Overlapping interval of PLAMCOR-2 coat by POLYTON-HV at (20±2) °C and relative air humidity (65±5)% should not be less than 4 days.
It is recommended to apply 1 or 2 layers of POLYTON-HV depending on the operating conditions, while controlling the wet film thickness and usage rate:
- 200 - 270 g/m2 (theoretical) for the coating thickness of 60 - 80 μm (per 1 layer);
- 335 - 403 g/m2 (theoretical) for the coating thickness of 100 - 120 μm (per 2 layers).
Conversion rate of dry/wet coating layer is 0.40.

Drying of the POLYTON-HV coat is natural, as the ambient temperature increases, the drying time of the coat shortens.The subsequent layer of POLYTON-HV (when applying the thickness of 100-120 μm per 2 layers) should be applied no earlier than 2 hours after the application of the previous layer (at (20±2)°C).
The time for through dry of the coat is 7 days.

Storage and handling

The POLYTON-HV l is supplied in metal containers.
Storage conditions – in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at air temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 °C). The container shall be protected from lasting direct sunlight and atmospheric condensation.
The shelf life of POLYTON-HV in hermetically enclosed original container is 12 months starting with the manufacture date.

Precautions

When working with POLYTON-HV, one shall observe the existing sectoral standard norms and requirements and safety measures as specified on the package label.
One shall use personal protective equipment (goggles, face masks and respirators) and avoid inhalation of thinners and contact of the composition or its components with skin, eye mucosa, respiratory channels; use inside the premises is allowed only in case sufficient ventilation is provided.
POLYTON-HV is classified as a fire-hazardous material.
