ISOLEP®-epoline

Description

An epoxyurethane composition with an isocyanate-type curing agent, with a high solids content.

The coating is chemically resistant to aggressive atmospheric factors, to UV radiation; resistant to mechanical effect and abrasion.

Recommended use

Anticorrosion protection of metal, reinforced concrete and other mineral surfaces of structures operated in the industrial atmosphere of all macroclimate areas and placement categories as per GOST 15150 when exposed to aggressive environments: gases, aqueous solutions of salts, short-term overflow with acids, alkalis, oil and oil products.

It is used as an independent coating.

Surface preparation

• degrease the metal surface till the first degree according to GOST 9.402;
• clean of scale, rust and old paint by abrasive blasting to the degree of Sa 2 ½ according to ISO 8501-1 (degree 2 according to GOST 9.402), allowed by mechanized and manual tools to the degree St 3 according to ISO 8501-1 (degree 3 according to GOST 9.402);
• remove dust.

• degrease to remove dirt, oil and grease;
• remove lime milk or laitance, destroyed or flaking concrete layers and old coatings by abrasive cleaning, grinding machine or brushes;
• remove dust;
• repair crack bridging and spalls.

Application

• Prior to use mix the base thoroughly until smooth;

• while mixing constantly add a curing agent to the base and mix thoroughly.

• if necessary dilute to the working viscosity.

The material is recommended to be applied in the plant and field conditions at temperature from minus 5 to plus 35 °C and relative air humidity not more than 80 %. The temperature of the surface must be above the dew point by at least 3 °C. To increase the viability of the composition up to 1 hour, dilution with SOLVIN-15 thinner (TU 20.30.22-014-67503963-2018) in an amount of 5-10 % by weight is recommended.

ISOLR is recommended to be applied in 1-2 layers using airless, conventional (air) spray or by brush/roller.

Overlapping interval between the layers of the composition at a temperature of plus 20 ° C – at least 16 hours. Curing time depends on the surface temperature and ambient air, the degree of dilution of the material, the thickness of the coating, ventilation efficiency and relative humidity.

The exposure time of the coating before operation in aggressive conditions is at least 7 days at a temperature of (20±2)°C.

Storage and handling

ISOLEP-mastic is supplied as The Base and Curing Agent packed in metal containers, depending on the weight of the complete set.

Storage conditions – in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at air temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 °C). The material components shall be stored away from heat sources, the container shall be protected from lasting direct sunlight and atmospheric condensation.

The shelf life is determined by the warranty periods of storage of the base and curing agent of the composition - 12 months starting with the date of manufacture.

Precautions

When working with the material, one shall observe the existing sectoral standard norms and requirements and safety measures as specified on the package label.

One shall use personal protective equipment (goggles, face masks and respirators) and avoid inhalation of thinners and contact of the composition or its components with skin, eye mucosa, respiratory channels; use inside the premises is allowed only in case sufficient ventilation is provided.

The material and its components (base and curing agent ) are fire-hazardous!
