ISOLEP®-pro penetrating primer

Description

Two-component polyamide cured epoxy primer with high penetration and adhesion promoters for concrete.

Recommended use

Designed to protect concrete and reinforced concrete structures operating in the atmosphere and in contact with liquid, in areas of complete immersion and variable level.

It is used as a primer coat before applying the main coating. It is well absorbed, strengthens the surface layer of concrete. It can be used as a single coat system for dedusting a concrete surface.

Can be used as an intermediate layer in coating systems to improve interlayer adhesion, as well as a primer (adhesive) layer with polyurethane-based sealants.

ISOLEP-pro is recommended for application in coating systems with VMP protective coatings: ISOLEP-mastic, ISOLEP-hydro, POLYTON-UR, VINICOR-62 and with other epoxy, vinyl-epoxy and polyure-thane top coats.

Surface preparation

The concrete surface prepared for applying the paintwork according to SP 72.13330.2016 should be uniformly rough and not have protruding reinforcement, cracks, potholes, cavities, sagging, chipped ribs, oil stains, dirt and dust.
Operating procedures:

• remove dirt, oil and grease;
• remove lime (cement) milk by abrasive blasting (preferably) or mechanical abrasive cleaning (grind-er, etc.) or high-pressure hydro-blasting (at least 200 atm.);
• remove dust.

The age of the concrete base (after laying concrete or after applying leveling mixtures) before applying ISOLEP-pro must be at least 28 days.
Residual moisture in the surface layer of 20 mm should not exceed 4 %.
The temperature of the base must be at least 3 °C above the dew point.
There should be no signs of moisture on the surface.

Application

• stir the base to a homogeneous condition before application;
• add a curing agent and mix 2-3 min (mixing ratio of a base and a curing agent 100:19 by mass, respectively), after mixing, the ISOLEP-pro is ready for application;

The primer shall be applied on dry and clean surface at temperatures from plus 10 °C to plus 35 °C and relative air humidity not exceeding 80 %.
Apply a thin layer in the minimum amount required for impregnation of the concrete surface. Avoid applying too much primer - the primed surface should not be glossy. In the case of obtaining a glossy surface before applying the main coating should be abrasive surface treatment.

Storage and handling

ISOLEP-pro is supplied as the base in 20 and curing Agent in 3 litre metal containers.

Storage conditions – according to GOST 9980.5.

ISOLEP-pro must be stored in sealed package of manufacturer at air temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 °C, away from heating sources, protected from atmospheric condensation and direct sunlight.

The primer must be transported in accordance with the requirements GOST 9980.5 at ambient temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 ° C.

The shelf life of components is 36 months starting with the manufacture date.

Precautions

When working with ISOLEP-pro one shall observe the existing sectoral standard norms and requirements and safety measures as specified on the package label.

ISOLEP-pro is intended for professional use.
