Primer-enamel based on the modified acrylate
Single-component
Colour: According to the RAL catalogue

Description

EVOPOL-12 is one-component primer-enamel based on the modified acrylate.

It is applied directly on metal without preliminary priming ("direct-to-metal" – DTM coating). It combines the protective properties of a primer and high decorative qualities of enamel being resistant to UV radiation. Color is selected according to the RAL catalog.

Application at the temperatures up to -25°С is allowed.

Recommended use

Anti-corrosion protection of metal and concrete structures operated in an open industrial environment in the temperate and cold climates.

It is used for metal structures as:

  • an independent coating;
  • a finishing layer in the comprehensive coating systems with the epoxy and polyurethane-based primers when operating in an environment with high corrosiveness (areas with a marine climate, highly polluted industrial environments), as well as with the vinyl-epoxy, acrylic and other primers.

Recommended dry film thickness:

  • in the case of indoor operation - 70-90 microns (for one layer);
  • in the case of outdoor operation - 140-180 microns (for two layers).

Surface preparation

Steel surface:

  • degrease the metal surface to the first degree in accordance with GOST 9.402;
  • clean from scale, rust and old paint by abrasive blasting to the 2nd grade according to GOST 9.402 (Sa 2 1/2 or Sa 2 according to ISO 8501-1); the mechanized and manual cleaning up to the 3rd degree according to GOST 9.402 (St 3 according to ISO 8501-1) is allowed;
  • dust off.
  • Concrete surface:

    • remove dirt, oil and grease contaminations;
    • remove the top layer (laitance) by abrasive blasting (preferably) or mechanical abrasive cleaning (grinder, etc.);
    • dust off using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
    • After placing, the concrete base must be at least 28 days old. Residual moisture in the surface layer with the thickness of 20 mm should not exceed 4%. The base temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point. There should be no visible traces of moisture on the surface.
    • Application

      • stir the primer-enamel to a homogenous condition before use;
      • if necessary, dilute to the working viscosity with SOLV-UR® or SOLVIN-11 thinner (SOLV-EP and petroleum naphtha according to GOST 10214 are allowed) at the temperatures from +10 to +35ºС, as well as with toluene at the temperatures from -25 to +10ºС.
      • It is recommended to apply the primer-enamel at ambient temperatures from -25 to +35ºС and relative humidity of no more than 85%.

        Storage and handling

        The primer-enamel is supplied in metal buckets with a capacity of 20 liters. The storage conditions for the base and the hardener should be in accordance with GOST 9980.5 at the ambient air temperature from -40 to +40ºС. During storage, the containers shall not be exposed to atmospheric precipitation and direct sunlight.

        The guaranteed shelf life of the primer-enamel is 24 months from the date of manufacture.

        Precautions

        When working with the primer-enamel, it is necessary to comply with the relevant industry codes and requirements, as well as the precautions indicated on the container label.

        It is necessary to use personal protective equipment (goggles, masks, breathing masks), avoid inhalation of solvents during evaporation and contact of the compound with the skin, eye mucous membranes and respiratory tract; indoor use with adequate ventilation only.

        The primer-enamel is the fire hazardous material.
