VINICOR®-63

Description

Single-packed  varnish  based on a solution of a copolymer of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate in a mixture of organic solvents.

Recommended use 

Generally intended for  concrete and mineral surfaces  priming, in a complex  coating system with VINICOR-62 (TU 20.30.12-001-54359536-2018)  enamel, such as bridge  structures, industrial facilities, etc.,  used  in the  atmospheric conditions of all macroclimate areas, types of atmosphere and placement categories according to GOST 15150.

Surface preparation

Concrete surface:
The surface prepared for applying varnish coat should be evenly rough, without protruding fittings, cracks, pot-holes, popouts, overlaps, arris spalling, oil stains, dirt and dust.
The operating procedures: 

• remove dirt, oil and grease;
• remove  lime  milk  (cement slurry), destroyed or flaking  concrete layers  and old coatings by abrasive cleaning, grinding machine or brushes;
• remove dust;
• repair crack bridging and spalls.

Holding time of the concrete base after concrete placement before applying the primer should be at least 28 days;  after the application of leveling compounds  –  according to the reference  documentation of the compound manufacturer. Surface moisture (in the surface layer 20 mm thick) is not more than 4 %.

Application 

Mix the varnish to a homogeneous condition before application The material is recommended to be applied  in the plant  and field  conditions at temperature  from plus 5 to plus 30 °C and relative air humidity not more than 85 %.
The temperature of the painted surface shall be above the dew point by at least 3 °C.
The varnish prepared for application shall be of temperature at least plus 15 °C.
The varnish  is recommended to be applied  in 1-2 layers using airless,  conventional  (air) spray,  bybrush/roller.

The  overlapping interval before  the next layer of varnish at temperature of  (20±2) °C is not less than 2  hours.  Hardening time depends on the temperature of surface and ambient air, degree of dilution of the material, thickness of coating, efficiency of ventilation and relative air humidity.
Holding time of the coating before operating in aggressive conditions is not less than 7 days at temperature from 15 to 22 °С.

Storage and handling

The material is packed in metal buckets.
Storage conditions  –  in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at temperature from minus 10 to plus 35  °C). The material components shall be stored  away from heat sources, the container  shall be protected from direct sunlight and atmospheric condensation.
The shelf life of the varnish is 12 months starting with the manufacture date.

Precautions

When working with the  varnish,  one shall observe the existing sectoral standard  norms, requirements, and safety measures as specified on the package label.
One shall use personal protective equipment (goggles,  face  masks  and respirators) and avoid inhalation of thinners and contact of the composition or its components with skin, eye mucosa, respiratory channels; use inside the premises is allowed only in case sufficient ventilation is provided.
The material and its components (base and hardener) are fire-hazardous!
The hardened coating is not harmful to human health.
